Millesime 1979 is the oldest rum released. It has powerful flavor with strong astringency as if chewing a bark. Enjoy taking time the change of the spreading orange-like aroma.
Lamani Distillery was established in 1749 by Count Ferdinand Poulain who landed in Martinique from Normandy, France. They had been a sugar factory in the beginning and the production of rum was few. The owner changed many times while rum production continued. In the middle of 1900s they started rum production fully introducing the latest equipment in 1986. They produce 2.8 million liters of rum in one season working for 24 hours from Feb to Jun. Most of the sugarcanes used as ingredient are hand-harvested that are distilled using 3 column stills. The rum is made through the traditional agricole method.
