The most beautiful sugarcane field in the island expands in the foot of Mount Pelée volcano in Martinique. The current distillery was successfully re-built in 1917 by Victor Dapaz, one of the survivors of the Pelée eruption in 1902 that damaged severely the distillery.
The soil became richer for volcanic ash and now “volcanically” delicious rum is made. It is referred to as a Grand Cru of agricole rum.
VSOP is especially popular among Depaz products and has been aged for 7 years in oak barrel. It has complex and deep flavor with a firm drinking sensation.
